The data this article inspects is the results from the 2019 All England Open, which took place in Birmingham from March 6 to March 11. Does the player’s performance get affected by a streak of consecutive points or large point leads?.Does service give players more advantages or less? How is this different across singles and doubles games?. ![]() ![]() Summing down the observations, two questions are generated to guide the scope of this article: The findings would be explained statistically as well as in relation to gameplay & insights. Given the differences in styles of gameplay, this article looks at how service, consecutive points, and point leads affect players’ mentality/performance differently in each of the categories. Generally, doubles games are more fast-paced and focus more on offense than defense, whereas singles games focus more on versatility and are more dynamic. Badminton players know as common knowledge that the tactics, strategy, and intensity are vastly different across these categories.
